We’d love to share Dash the donkey’s story with you.
We rescued Dash on the 21st of April 2024. His previous owners had abandoned him along with a few other animals and simply left the property. A kind-hearted lady took in most of the animals and then reached out to us to ask if we could take Dash in – and of course, we said yes ❤️
When Dash arrived here, it was clear he’d been through a lot. He had visible signs of neglect, markings on his body from being used to pull a carriage, a broken ear, and a scar under his tail. It was truly heartbreaking to see. But what a difference a year makes.
Dash has settled in beautifully. He’s made friends with the other horses and loves calling out to his buddies – both the animals and our team who live on the farm 🐴✨ He’s got such a cheeky little personality and brings so much joy to our daily lives.
He’s still a bit wary of people, but he’s come a long way. And yes – he’s also become a bit of a veggie thief! 😄 He knows exactly where we put the veggie bags, and if you’re not looking, he’ll help himself to a snack or two. He keeps us on our toes!
We’re not sure how old he is, but that doesn’t matter – he’s a much-loved part of the Pigs and Paws family now 💚
