Maybelline was born in a laboratory as an experimental pig to test on. She was tested on, at only a week old and landed up almost dying. She was revived by a compassionate vet student and taken home to be bottle fed. Once Maybelline got a little too big she was dropped off at an animal welfare society where she lived for about 3 months, but constantly got attacked and injured by the dogs residing there. We were approached by someone to please rescue her and have her vetted and give her a permanent home.
On Monday 16th August 2021 we went out to the AWS to collect Maybelline and took her to our vet. She was in quite a state with wounds all over and needed quite a lot of cleaning up. She took a few weeks in quarantine to recover and came to the sanctuary soon after where she now lives in a huge pen with her best friend Luigi, just loving and living.
